New Braunfels is one of 35 cities in Texas designated
as a "Tree City U.S.A.". There are over 96 species of trees in the Arboretum
anchored by the Founders Oak approximately 300 years old.
Limestone bluffs and huge bald cypress trees cling to the banks of the Guadalupe
River, one of two rivers flowing through New Braunfels. Enjoy swimming, canoeing

Comal River is located in Landa Park, a 196-acre natural park near the center

& huge spring-fed pool, a bird sanctuary and a variety of activities including
glass bottom boats and nature trails. Lovely Landa Park offers picnic facilities
under the shade of ancient oaks. Walk or jog on the park's special trails. You
can also ride a miniature train around the 196 acres of the park.

Wurstfest - The ten day salute to sausage! Families come from far and near to

Take a step back in time and enjoy a shopping mecca in the historical community
of Gruene. Nostalgia abounds while visiting quaint shops, the Old Gristmill River
Restaurant and famous Gruene Hall. Gruene Market Days and Christmas Market feature
100 vendors offering hand made crafts, gifts, collectibles and Texas foods every
third weekend February through November.
